素晴らしい機能の数々を合わせもったDAW（デジタル・オーディオ・ワークステーション）アプリ『Uloops Studio Lite』を紹介します。
本アプリ1つで気軽に作曲を楽しむことができる優れもので、シンセサイザーやモジュレーターはもちろん、ドラムセットの配置も思うがまま！のDTMファン感涙のアプリとなっています。
DAWって何？DTMって何？という方もいると思いますが、簡単に一言で言うと「音楽を作る」ことです。本来であれば、DAWはコアな音楽ファン向けのツールなのですが、こうしてAndroidアプリとなったことで、誰もが気軽に挑戦できるようになったのは、うれしい限りです（しかも無料！）。
なんだか難しそうだな～と思うのではなく、ぜひとも試してみてください！
本アプリは最初にアカウント登録をする必要があります。ちょっと面倒かもしれませんが、このアカウント登録をすることによってUloopsのコミュニティサイトを利用できるようになります。このコミュニティサイトでは、自分で作成した楽曲をアップロードしたり、世界中の誰かが作った曲を楽しむことができ、楽曲作成のモチベーションとなりそうです。もちろん、Twitterなどへの投稿機能も備えています。
このサイトにアップされている楽曲は、メイン画面の「community」から聞くことができますが、聞くだけでもめちゃくちゃ楽しいです。ジャンルもHipHopやJazzなど本当に幅広く、クオリティーも激高なので、全然飽きませんよ。

では、早速曲を作ってみましょう。
作曲を始めるにはアカウント登録後、メイン画面の「Compose」をタップしてください。左側のコマンド内に「Song1」という項目が出てきたら、左側の項目部分をタップして使用するフレーズのデバイスを選択してみましょう。シンセサイザー・ドラムマシン・モジュレーター・オーディオレコーダー・アルペジエイターの中から選んで、トラックを作成できます。

デバイスとして設置したアイテムの名前をタップすると、細かなメロディーやリズムのパターンを設定することができます。デバイスによって設定の仕方は多少異なります。ドラムセットの場合なら、鳴らしたい音色の横軸のマスをタップすることで、鳴らすタイミングを変えることができます。右下にあるボタンがエフェクトの種類になっているので、ここで音色も変えられます。
設定した音を聴くには、右上にあるフロッピーアイコンをタップしてレンダリングを行ってからの再生となります。レンダリングは変更するたびに必要となりますので、お忘れなく。また、デバイスごとの細かな音量調整も、フレーズのテンポやオクターブの変更も簡単にできます。最初は、ちょっと触っただけで、自分のオリジナルのサウンドが聞けるということに、ビックリしてしまうと思います。そのビックリを味わうだけでも、インストールしてみる価値があります。

このアプリひとつで、PCのDTMソフトと比較しても見劣りしないほどの性能を体験できると思います。多少の知識が必要ですが、DTMに抵抗がない人ならぜひとも利用してもらいたいアプリです。
今回ご紹介したのは無料版ですが、エフェクト制限が解除された有料版『Uloops Studio Pro』も用意されています。ハマってしまった方は、有料版を購入してより本格的な作曲に取り組んでみましょう！

• Your Google accounts: Suggests your current gmail account in the registration form. We don’t use this address unless you confirm it.
• Network communication: Upload and download sounds from our servers.
• Storage: Write files to SD card, that way we avoid exhausting internal memory.
• Hardware controls: record audio. Uses the mic with the recorder device. control vibrator used by the metronome while recording audio.
• Phone calls: read phone state and identity. We store a hash of your phone internal ID to prevent creating several accounts from the same device. Also we save the brand and model of your phone for debugging. No personal information is stored except username, password and email.
• System tools modify global system settings: change system ringtone and alarm. prevent phone from sleeping: some tablets (for example archos5) required this to start.
